Welcome to East Asia Integration Studies, an online portal initiated by the Hanns Seidel Foundation, Korea. For our latest news click here. Subscribing to the East Asia Integration Studies newsletter is a feature to stay up to date with the developments in ASEAN+3. You can do so here, or download it here.

The Hanns Seidel Foundation (HSF) is working in the field of political education as it is founded as a political foundation. Its motive is “to serve democracy, peace and development”. The mission of the foundation varies among the countries which were chosen for continuous projects. So one aspect of the project in the Republic of Korea is to transfer knowledge about the reunification in Germany to Koreans - particularly to those near the demilitarized zone (DMZ).

Moreover, as the HSF has offices not only in the Republic of Korea, but also in China, Indonesia and the Philippines, it shows particular interest in the development of East Asia and the economic integration in this region.

On the basis of its work and its interests in the development of the region, the HSF has decided to introduce a discussion platform for researchers to open up discussions and talks about the integration in East Asia.

This website offers a discussion function which will be monitored continuously and sustainably by the moderators of this website. Their intention is to keep the discussion list free from any spam or misuse.

Further functions are a newsboard and pages to offer articles and book reviews. Links to homepages concerning the topic of East Asia Integration Studies as well as the 'about us' category complete the offer.
